Does anyone know the reason for the strawed parts on early TK Long 99s? Extra production time and better aesthetics?

Does anyone know the reason for the strawed parts on early TK Long 99s? Extra production time and better aesthetics? I’m not sure on this, but you see a lot of straw in the years leading up to this. Nambu triggers/safeties etc. Lots of parts on the 38’s were strawed, I’m willing to bet it was just a standard in production leading up to wartime requirements that changed in favor of timelines and less quality concerns.
